Massachusetts TeamWalk Connection for people concerned with Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP) or Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS)

Meet others concerned with HSP or PLS, share stories and concerns, have fun and take us one step closer to the cure!

TeamWalk Lunch Connection, Noon - 2:00 p.m.

Agenda: Socialize, participate in a Round Robin Show and Tell (demo or talk about something that helps you manage life better), enjoy our picnic lunch, learn from our Special Topics Forum (selected individuals will present programs of interest) and have fun.

TeamWalk for our Cures, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
After the Connection Forum, we’ll hold our TeamWalk in a lovely, accessible nature path at Horn Pond. Individuals can walk, roll or stroll as little or as much as desired. Our TeamWalk is about participation. Proudly wear your TeamWalk T-shirt and walk, roll, or stroll as much as you desire, taking us one step closer to our cure.

Our annual TeamWalk is our major effort to raise funds for Research Awards. You’ll ask individuals to sponsor your participation in the event, not distance walked. Visit our Tips page for fundraising tips and a Sample Letter. Use this Sponsorship Form to keep track of your sponsors and mail it in with your donations one week ahead of the TeamWalk (bring late sponsorships with you). All funds raised through TeamWalk will support SPF Research Awards.

Registration

The Registration Fee for the Massachusetts TeamWalk Lunch Connection is $10 per person. This reserves your TeamWalk T-shirt. Register early, as sizes cannot be guaranteed.

Why Your Support Matters

There is currently no treatment to prevent, stop or reverse the degenerative process in PLS or HSP. These diseases attack one’s ability to walk, often leaving their victims in wheelchairs. They can also rob people of the ability to use their hands and arms, and ,even to speak or cause other neurological problems as well. The Spastic Paraplegia Foundation is the only organization in the Americas that is dedicated to raising funds specifically for HSP and PLS research. The organization is 100% volunteer-managed and the TeamWalk For Our Cures is the national, community event to raise funds for research.
