Dear loved one,

You know me well, so you know I really don't need a gift. And, I know you well enough to know you just might be planning to get me something anyway. If you are, I have a suggestion.

Instead of buying me a gift, please make a donation to the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation to help them in their quest for the cures for upper motor neuron disorders. That would be the best gift I could hope for. This Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding the causes and cure for my disorder (or the disorder that affects my family). In fact, it is the only organization in the Americas dedicated to my disorder. All gifts are tax-deductible for all tax-payers who itemize.
