If you’re one of those people who dislikes their own birthday because it’s too much attention, then a fundraiser birthday party is for you. Basically, you use your birthday as an excuse to raise awareness and money for The Spastic Paraplegia Foundation. You could limit the invite list to your friend and family, or you could open it up to co-workers, community volunteers and even more. Here are your three tips to throwing yourself a fundraiser birthday party:
Digitally fundraise—For those family members and friends who feel uncomfortable sending money in the mail, set up an account on a fundraising website for people to donate online. You could set it up through Razoo, Punchbowl or even link them to the donate page on the SPF website that allows your friends and family to make their donation quick and easy. Showcase HSP or PLS—The most important part of your fundraiser birthday party is educating your guests about HSP and/or PLS. HSP: http://sp-foundation.org/understanding-pls-hsp/hsp.html
Good Luck and Have Fun!
We are excited that Giving Tuesday is coming up soon. It is a once a year event and is a perfect accent to the holiday season. Unbeknownst to the commercial world, the holiday season is not about who gets more for me, me, me. It is about that special feeling you get when you know you have really helped out someone you care about or love. It is knowing that the dollar you give today is going to blossom into a million dollars worth of relief from suffering for the people with HSP and PLS. Welcome to Giving Tuesday and we Thank You for your consideration.
When Clinical Trials begin in 2017 it may require as many people as possible for the Clinical Trial to be effective. If you have HSP or PLS, please add your information to our data base so we can keep you informed.
