Join SPF in FUNdraising for HSP and PLS Medical Research.
We are inviting our community to have a little fun while building serious awareness with the “Potato Pants Challenge!” Imagine stuffing your pockets or pant legs with potatoes, bean bags, or anything weighted — then try walking, standing up, or climbing a few stairs. That heavy, stiff feeling? That’s a glimpse of what people living with HSP and PLS experience every day. It’s powerful and shareable — a reminder that while we can laugh together, the challenges our families face are real. Join the challenge, film it, tag your friends, and help us turn fun into funding for research, treatments, and hope!
Please watch the Award Winning video below with Lori Renna Linton, founder of the Potato Pants Challenge, to learn about the challenge of Potato Pants.
Start your Potato Pants Challenge and ask those around you to "Walk in your Shoes."
Starting a fundraiser is easy to do, and it's fun. We'll even give you tools you'll need to make a difference.
Complete on your own event, recruit family and friends to participate, or plan an event for others in your area.
Please set up your personal fundraising page: CLICK HERE to see more details and start raising funds. Grab a photo to upload, create a personal message to ask for donations, and set a goal. Not sure how much you can raise? Start with a goal of $500. You might be surprised. You can always increase your goal. Be creative and have fun! There were some participants from last year that used mobility devices to participate. At least one swam her way to raising funds for medical research.
If you would like to host an event, please email: lori.rennalinton@gmail.com. You will be emailed a How to Plan a Potato Pants guide. It will provide a step-by-step process to get ready for your event. Please do not get overwhelmed. If this is your first time planning an event like this, start small. Invite family and friends this year. Invite others next year.
Help others and SP-Foundation raise awareness and funds for Medical Research by Starting a Fundraiser today! Below is an event toolkit guide.
