OUR HEROS
Local Events and Fundraisers
Join us in supporting the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation, a beacon of hope for those living with this rare neurological condition. Our fundraisers bring together communities, organizations, and individuals who share a common goal: to improve the lives of those affected by spastic paraplegia. By having your own events, you are not only raising awareness but also providing crucial funding for research, education, and support services. Your contribution can make a significant impact on the lives of individuals and families facing the challenges of spastic paraplegia. It doesn't matter how big or small, every amount helps. Let's come together to make a difference and create a brighter future for all those touched by spastic paraplegia.
Thank you for your support, and let's continue to make a positive impact through our fundraising efforts.

Moynihan Family
Our family has started getting involved in raising awareness and funds for the SP Foundation in the past few years since Maddon’s diagnosis. We have found this to be a really positive way to do something productive as a family given the reality of the situation. We’ve had tons of fun putting on these events including raffles at the local pizza restaurant, golf and poker tournaments and a private wine tasting dinner. We are hopeful that with continued awareness and fundraising there will be a cure for Maddon.
Texas Team HSP & PLS
We are thrilled to share the success of our recent 5K fundraiser, which took place on Sunday, October 13 at The Tobin Park in San Antonio, Texas. With the support of our generous participants, volunteers, and sponsors, we raised over $6,000 to benefit the SP Foundation. The event saw a wonderful turnout of runners, walkers, rollers, and supporters of all ages, united by the common goal of making a difference. Whether participants aimed to achieve a personal best or simply enjoy a day of fun and fitness, the spirit of the day was truly inspiring. We extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, from the volunteers who dedicated their time and effort, our family and friends, who donated so generously, to the local businesses, Hassinger Hair Salon and The Vision Source of Alamo Heights and McAuthur Park who sponsored the event. Your involvement not only made the 5K possible but also amplified the impact on the SP Foundation. The following San Antonio, SP members were present for the 5K: Tess Bobo and her family and friends, JTaylor Gutierrez and his family and friends, and Rayhan Syeda and his family. Together, we’ve shown the strength of our community when we come together for a worthy cause. We look forward to making next year’s event even bigger and better. Thank you again for your incredible support.
