Support Groups

  • Ambassadors are volunteers committed to helping members of the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation (SPF) with whatever you need. It can be anything from finding a doctor to just someone to talk to. Ambassadors are available to help you connect with local resources and events in your area or nationally.

  • The Neurological Disorders Support Group Meetings for PLS and HSP are held on the first Tuesday of the month by Zoom video conferencing. See the Events Calendar for details: https://sp-foundation.org/get-involved/events/events-calendar/

  • There is a Spastic Paraplegia Foundation Facebook Group and many more. For those facing a rare disease, Facebook groups can feel like a lifeline. They’re a place to find practical tips, emotional support, and others who genuinely understand what you’re going through.

  • Do you have ALS or PLS and have a military background? On the Fourth Wednesday of every month from 12 – 1 p.m. CT, I AM ALS hosts a meet up for veterans living with ALS to share their experiences and receive emotional support.

  • SPF TALKS is online via Zoom to present and discuss subject matters of interest to people with HSP or PLS.

  • The Spastic Paraplegia has a YouTube Channel full of videos, recordings and podcasts from the SPF Annual Conferences, SPF Talks, and much more.
